Can God stand outside the community of believers?

They gathered together, they worshipped, they planned, they had fellowship, they ate together, they distributed money to those in need, they were rich, they were ‘blessed’ by God.

But they lacked one thing. Their Lord stood outside their gatherings. He stood outside and knocked.

They were rich and needed nothing, but were poor in the eternal treasures of heaven.

They wore the finest clothes, but their garment of salvation was torn, stained and blotted.

Yet they were blind to their true poverty.

They knew not that they were poor and were too stubborn to understand.

But He will chasten, for He loves like no father or mother on earth can love.

All He asks is zealous repentance.

Revelation 3:14-22

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
— Revelation 3:20
