“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” - 1 Timothy 2:1-2
We are to pray for all men, especially for authorities, governments and leaders of our countries to gain the right knowledge and wisdom to discern between right and wrong.
The key to living a peaceable life in all godliness and reverence is in interceding for these authorities who are placed in their positions by none other than God Himself. We play a big role as citizens of our earthly countries.
We play a bigger role as citizens of the Heavenly places. Being ambassadors of Christ, our duty is to uphold our leaders in the arms of prayer and give thanks to God for them.
No matter how much we disagree with any of them, always be reminded that our Father in Heaven has placed them there for His purpose to be fulfilled. Are we doing our part as His children in honoring that grand will? Are we taking the responsibility for the failure of our nations?
Let us give our nations into the arms of the Lord, and let us pray for their deliverance from the bondage of sin.
