Persecutions for Righteousness' Sake

And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
— Luke 23:25 (KJV)

We can see that the World always prefers the worst of us, the murderers, the slanderers, the adulterers, the liars etc. No matter what good you have done, at the end of it all, this earth welcomes the wicked people.

We can see that Pilate keeps inquiring of Jesus’ accusers of what He had done that is worthy of Him being put to death by Crucifixion. When they could not find anything to accuse Him of, they cried out with a loud voice to crucify Him and their voice prevailed over the law. They had Barabbas released unto them while Jesus was lead to be crucified.

When we are in Christ Jesus, that means the world will always try to accuse us of many things that we may not have done. It will try to justify the sins of other people and its voice will prevail over the law.

But we are in Him who has overcome the World. And in order to overcome it, we have to be silent in most situations like He was.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mathew 5:10 (KJV)

Your home is not in this world. Do not be disheartened when you are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for yours is the Kingdom of Heaven.
