A true godly friend is a great treasure, but the wrong kind of friend is the greatest danger that anyone can possibly have. He/she is somebody who is faithful, who encourages you and makes you better.
The Bible says in Proverbs 27:17,
“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
And it also says,
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed” - Proverbs 13:20
A friend loves at all times…(Proverbs 17:17). A true friend will challenge you. A true friend will love you enough to say, “That is wrong. I cannot let you do that, that sin will destroy you.”
Choose your friend wisely. Thank God there is one friend that “sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24), and His name is Jesus. He is a true friend who will never leave us even in our darkest moments.
