“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” - 2 Peter 3:9
Today we hear many people question the promise of the second coming of Christ. Some not through words, but their lives are as though Christ will never come back.
Just because we do not see extensive judgments from God today, does not mean that His judgments are not real or is delayed to the point of ‘non-existence’. What seems like forever for us is but a short time for God.
One of the most beautiful characteristics of our God is His incredible long-suffering and patience He has. He does not wish to see anyone perish, and the delay in His judgment is not Him being weak or slack, but patiently waiting for ALL people to come to repentance, joining in the righteousness of God!
Do we have this godly character in us? Are we hasty in passing judgments on others when we see some injustice? Let us be reminded that if God would have been hasty in His judgments toward us, we would have been erased from the very existence. Let us ask God to teach us His patience and to harness the burden for all people to come to the knowledge of Christ.
