Trials unto Glory

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. - James 1:12

Everyone experiences some kind of trial in life. But instead of allowing them to devastate us, we can let God use them for our growth. Our suffering is never a surprise to the Lord. He knows everything we are going through and He provides the strength and the wisdom we need to come out victorious.

One purpose for hardship is cleansing. The pressures that bear down on us from stormy situations are meant to bring the impurities such as selfishness, wrong priorities to our attention and direct us to a place of repentance. Our trials are intended to purify and guide us back to godliness, not to ruin our lives.

James reminds us that God wants us to trust Him in the trials of life. For as we trust Him in the trials, God can use the difficult trial to mold us and to make us mature so that we will be more like Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Trust Him! Keep your eyes on Him! And God will use even this trial for His glory.
