How much reverence and respect do we give God in our lives? Especially when we come into His presence to praise and worship Him?
Let's just take a step off our daily boring routines for a moment and think.
The whole Universe consists of immense amount of energy that we cannot even begin to comprehend.
Scientists believe that the Earth has had periodical mass extinctions every 26 million years.
But the last one is said to be about 66 million years ago, when dinosaurs were extinct.
We aren't sure of the causes of these extinctions but we have our theories and one of them is giant meteorites or comets.
Another theory is the energetic rays or waves from the universe.
Lets just brush through some of these energies shall we?:
Supernova- stars that explode when their fuel is exhausted (send out massive amount of cosmic waves), which is very harmful to planets or substances as close as 30 million light years to the Supernova.
Super-massive- Even more powerful is gamma ray bursts (one of the most energetic events known in the universe) which is caused by Massive stars exploding.
Supernova is like a firecracker in comparison to Super-massive.
Black holes: Created by stars collapsing or imploding upon themselves.
Not even light can pass through, making it mostly undetectable.
However take a step back from extinctions caused by these energies and focus on one particular energy that makes our existence more interesting by holding us together.
Dark Matter (mysterious substance): It cannot be seen or detected easily, but if it weren't there, galaxies would fly apart. In 1933, Fritz Zwicky, a swiss astronomer realized that, though it cannot be seen or directly observed, it had a strong gravitational pull to hold everything together and he called this unknown form of matter, "dark".
25% of the universe is made up of this dark matter. And NOBODY knows what it actually is. Absolutely no clue. Physicists are hot on its trail of course, but not much developments have been made so far.
What could be this so called "dark matter"? This "unknown matter" that holds together the entire universe and sees to it that none of the planets or stars or galaxies, which revolve at massive speeds, flies apart?
Now let's just come back down and look within our own temporary home.
The Earth's core:
Consists of an outer and an inner layer.
The Outer Core- Liquid layer made up of iron, nickel and silicon(recently found out). This influences the earth's magnetic field (50 times stronger than the surface). Creates a protective bubble around the Earth against the sun's solar wind (let's just say, we wouldn’t exist without it).
Inner core- Also consists of the same elements of the outer core but much more solid and has the temperature, as similar to as the sun's surface.
Just how solid and strong is the foundation of the Earth?
Go figure!
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. - Psalms 104:5
But!
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. - Job 9:6
The God who installed the whole foundations of this earth so that it doesn't collapse, can also shake it's pillars that it may fall.
Just think for moment, how faithful and true our God is!!
For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. - Isaiah 66:2
The God who created these things, the One who brought them into existence, and the One who holds them together that they shall never be removed from there place, so as to create a congenial environment for us to live in, if He can make time for us to be there in our midst when we gather together in His name, how much respect and reverence should we give Him?....
What would we be doing if we realized that?
Would we stand?
Would we sit?
Would we jump?
Would we fall down before Him?
Would we tremble?
Would we be crying?
Bawling or screaming because of the realization of our sins?
"He gives us the credit we don't deserve (to be called as his children). So let us give Him the glory He deserves."
Joel Jacob
