The Divine Warning
“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household; by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” - Hebrews 11:7
Have you ever wondered how you would have fared if you were in Noah’s shoes? Would you have completely trusted in God’s word and did as the Lord said? To be fair, God knows the level of faith each of us possesses and He had complete confidence in Noah being the right man for the job.
Imagine the absurdity of it all, when a random man who claims that through faith in his God, has seen the condemnation of mankind from afar and routinely warns people wherever he goes. Noah was the sole righteous man in his time and the rest of the world was made aware of it the hard way because it never heeded God’s warnings.
Believe it or not, we live in a time that is much worse than Noah’s. There is impending condemnation for those who do not turn from their sinful ways and it is the Lord, the righteous judge, who will judge the world. We are messengers like Noah. We have tasted God's salvation through faith, and by faith, we are labelled, righteous people.
Are we doing our duty in revealing God’s word to the world? Or do we prefer to sit back and relax while people around us perish? God brings opportunities before us to proclaim His word. Are we using them wisely? Are we moved with ‘Godly fear’?
