Our Perfect Example

“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” - Hebrews 2:17-18

We have become the children of God through the blood of Christ, and through this redemption we are made to be the brethren of Christ. We do not serve a God who does not understand our sorrows, pains, tribulations and temptations. Rather we serve Him who came down in the form of a man, as our brother, enduring everything an earthly man endures and even more within a short span.

Having suffered and endured all that we go through, Christ stands as the perfect example for us to follow. He showed us how to come out victorious in temptations, remain patient in tribulations, love those who hurt us, bless those who curse us, help those in need, stand apart and ultimately help fulfill the perfect will of God.

We may find it difficult to live as Christ’s believers on this earth, but our hope and faith is in the One who stands as our mediator and a faithful High Priest who makes propitiation for our sins.
